Your Sales Deal Isn’t Moving. Do You Have the Right People Involved?

You have a good contact. They like what you're offering, answer your calls and attend your meetings. Maybe they've even told you they want to move forward.

Yet the Opportunity isn't moving.

The problem may have less to do with the person you're talking to and more to do with who you aren't talking to.

A supportive contact may not control the decision

A strong relationship is valuable, but support and authority aren't the same thing.

Someone else may control the budget. An executive may need to approve the purchase. Procurement may have requirements. An operational leader may worry about implementation. Someone you haven't met may prefer another solution.

And not everyone who can affect the outcome will have obvious formal authority.

Instead of thinking only about “the decision-maker,” consider everyone who can materially affect the purchase:

Who can approve it?
Who controls the money?
Who influences the final choice?
Who will have to implement it?
Who bears the risk if the decision goes badly?
Who could object or quietly stop it?
Who can help accelerate the decision?

Then ask the uncomfortable question: Who haven't I accounted for?

Your champion may not be enough

An enthusiastic contact can create a lot of confidence in an Opportunity. They understand the value, enjoy working with you and may genuinely want you to win.

But they may still be unable to create enough movement inside their own organization.

That can produce a deceptive situation: the relationship is strong, conversations remain positive, yet the deal doesn't advance.

You may understand everyone you've met. The bigger risk is the people you haven't accounted for.

Sales Blueprint Architect can help surface gaps like these so you can get a clearer view of how the decision actually gets made—and where your Opportunity may be vulnerable.
